Job Responsibilities

The meal unit has about 55 employees who cook and serve food to the elderly daily in nine kitchens. This includes those who reside in special housing or those who visit one of our restaurants at meeting places. Meal boxes for guests within home care are also provided by the meal unit.

You report to the section manager who is responsible for several kitchens. Our goal is satisfied guests, which requires constant dialogue and openness towards all our guests. Our menus mainly consist of traditional Swedish dishes, but modern dishes are also offered.

As a chef with us, you will have varied and developing tasks, preparing a wide variety of food and special diets. You work daytime Monday to Friday with a time format of 37/37, also known as a light weekend. This means you also work on public holidays that fall on Monday to Friday. Your tasks include self-checks, orders, receiving goods deliveries, and more. Cleaning and maintaining the kitchen areas are also part of your responsibilities.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained chef with a completed 3-year (or 2-year older) high school education with a focus on restaurant and food programs or post-secondary education as a chef that is deemed equivalent. You have at least 2 years of work experience in the profession.

You have a genuine interest in food and a great passion for cooking from scratch with the customer in focus. You enjoy change and development, are creative, flexible, solution-oriented, and like working in a team. You have good knowledge of both raw materials and the importance of hygiene routines and special diets. As a person, you are service-oriented, responsible, and understand the significance of good communication. With a good ability to collaborate and adapt to changes, you become a good team player. You can work both independently and in a group.

Computer skills are required for you to work in our digital system support. You master the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. Since Malmö city is a Finnish administrative area, it is a great advantage if you master the Finnish language.
